1993 Burton Kelly Air 161
Craig Kelly Men’s Snowboard 161cm.
This board is used and has normal wear for it’s vintage. Please look closely at the pictures and ask any questions before bidding.
“Then four time World Freestyle Champ Craig Kelly designed two pro models for the 93 Burton line. Spending more time in the heli than the pipe, these decks were more built for all-mountain freestyle and powder performance. The shorter ‘Kelly Air’ was 161cm and the 171 was the ‘Kelly Slopestyle’.
They both featured full-length vertically laminated wood cores with epoxy matrix construction and sintered bases. The shape was unique, particularly the tail. The ‘new taper angle tail’ was designed to sink into the powder (and inturn lift the nose) and avoid hang-ups.
Graphics were really detailed with a full top sheet covered in cartoon art that was dark in theme and colouring. Both the top and bottom featured the CK logo that dropped the year prior. The top sheet was also gloss finished.
Craig won the Baker Banked Slalom this year. It was also the first year of the Burton 3D hole pattern and the 2,073,600 stance options it brought to the table. “ - snowboard collector
