9 1/2 pounds of rough raw unfinished soapstone purchased at Chapungu exhibit

Description

4 pieces of soapstone with blue-green hue
flat surfaces show tool markings
purchased in St. Louis when Chapungu exhibit came to the Missouri Botanical Gardens
(we had plans to make stone sculptures but that fell by the wayside)
1. vertical 6 by 4 by 1-3 inch(base) with bottom and one side flat and smooth
2.  flat 6 by 3 by about 1/2 inch piece with top showing places where attempts at sculpture made
3.  flat 7 by 4 by 2 inch piece with one flat area with "JOY" carved and top with attempt at sculpture
4.  rough 7 by 3 by 2 inch piece, no markings
measurements are not exact as pieces are very irregular
The Chapungu artists were at the Botanical Gardens and working so I think these are fragments that came off of the sculptures they made
