This tool is
intended for use by professional mechanics who understand how to safely
work on vehicles. Please follow Technical Manual TM-9-2320-365-20-3 for guidance
necessary to do all work safely and in accordance with procedure.
The Hub Setup Gauge Tool is a reference device for taking an accurate measurement from the wheel
bearing nut to the hub face as pertaining to Steps 21-24 of TM section “WHEEL
BEARING / CENTRAL TIRE INFLATION SYSTEM (CTIS) SEAL REPLACEMENT”.
For quick reference, a copy of Steps 21-24 from the TM is included with the tool.

REQUIRED MATERIALS
You will need a caliper or depth gauge plus the following parts to complete the hub
setup check:
- Pinion O-Rings (4 per hub). Viton, Size 120 O-Rings.

- RTV (to reseal the hubs)
- Yellow metal-safe gear oil (for the front hubs)
- Shim kits**
**If you do not already have shim kits, order them before you do any work. It’s good to
have at least (2) kits. Part number is: 4715 (Meritor), NSN 5365-01-390-848. Kit can be
