Vintage Shakespeare Wonderod Fly Fishing Rod NO. FY-120-EFA 7'9"
This is a two piece vintage Shakespeare Wonderod fly fishing rod. Model FY-120-EFA rod weighs 4.2 oz. and will handle a 5-6 weight fly line. All purpose design for trout or bass rod dates to October 1965. Rod has a 4" black anodized aluminum hooded down locking ring fly reel seat. The 6 1/2" half-wells specie cork fly grip has a black aluminum winding check. Standard stainless steel hookeeper is an addition to the rod. Stainless steel stripper guide, five stainless steel snake guides, and a rust proof tip top. Ferrules are black anodized aluminum Swiss style. Blade is Wonderod white with red nylon guide winds and black nylon extensions. Specie cork has been cleaned and reconditioned. There was some minor thread break and surface scaring at the male ferrules which has been sealed, over-wrapped with white nylon, and finished in original thread colors. Rod is completed with vintage Gudebrod Glass Rod Varnish. Sections pack individually in a clear plastic rod sleeves inside a brown fiber rod storage tube.
